What can l say, we knew that the crazy month of March was going to be massive and it certainly has been to date. Some days between the Gold Coast and Brisbane there have been seven events in one day! The reason is the cross over between the NRA Australian Fashion Design Awards, the Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions Carnival, launches, balls and much more. We are running out of room! The week started with the launch of the NRA Australian Fashion Design Festival Launch at Room81, Sofitel Gold Coast. AMP ambassador Sophie Falkiner was unable to make it, but Sarah Davies was a fine replacement for the night. The champagne flowed and everyone was chatting about the busy festival ahead. In town in Trelise Cooper, Peter Morrissey, Jonathan Ward and many more. The Grand Ballroom at the Sofitel was the venue for ‘An Afternoon with Trelise Cooper’, another official event of the NRA Australian Fashion Design Festival. The crowd was certainly pleased by the fashions on display in the parade. The fashion selections of a few of the guests though were certainly questionable! One table also took out most of the lucky door prizes including a $2000 diamond and pearl necklace. Some of the ladies were crying fowl! Good grief! Off to the Bliss Fashion Emporium, ‘A Fashion Odyssey’ parade at the Broadbeach Mall. No rain this year and thank goodness as they would have struggled to fit the massive crowd inside. A racy parade, great models and more importantly fab fashion! The after-party at Room81 was wall to wall with good lookers and we loved it! The Motorline BMW Variety Queensland Entertainers Ball was held at the Brisbane Convention Centre. A very slick event. When you have guests on the dance floor only one hour after arrival, it is always the sign of a fabulous night ahead. Finally the busy week was topped off the with Australian Walk of Fame event at Peppers, Salt. Inducted were Lillian Frank, Pat Rafter, The Veronica’s, Layne Beechly and Michael Caton. A star studded affair an assisted in raising funds for the Make a Wish Foundation. Congratulations to the organisers! The national final of the NRA Australian Fashion Design Festival is coming up this week, a Channel Nine ‘Underbelly’ cast brunch, Magic Millions fashion events and of course all the racing action. Not to be forgotten is also Easter. Until next week, cheers!
